RailNET Automatic Train Management System

The RailNET Automatic Train Management System (ATMS) provides a
mode of control where all functions relating to the running of trains
are executed automatically. This includes, but is not limited to,
the following functions:

automatic requesting / setting of routes based on timetable
information,
automatic headway regulation,
automatic train dispatch
control and supervision of all signalling / ATP system functionality,
control and supervision of all ATO functionality,
operational data management,
dynamic line mimic diagrams, and
non-vital data communications

In order to provide the functionality listed above, the RailNET ATMS
incorporates a number of interfaces to existing and / or new equipment
(including systems that are provided by others) as follows:

vital signalling systems such as interlocking and ATP systems,
operating in fixed block or moving block mode,
non-vital ATO systems,
platform sign systems,
information management systems,
other automatic train supervisory systems (either RailNET systems
or systems provided by others),
Supervisory Control And Data Acquistion (SCADA) systems, and
auxiliary systems such as timetable generators and data
logging systems.

The data communications protocols
utilized on these interfaces include
industry standards such as X.25 and
HDLC but can also be customized to meet
the requirements of existing equipment
that may be used in conjunction with the
RailNET ATMS.

The data logging facilities of the RailNET
ATMS provide the capability of capturing
significant data events that may either be
transmitted to other systems, such as an
information management system, or that
may be replayed in the RailNET STS
simulation environment for analysis and
training purposes.

All Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
within the RailNET ATMS are graphical in
nature and may be adapted to the language
of choice for the end-user.

Train Management System, or any other
